The Galiwin’ku research team, attended the L.A. meeting at the Galiwin’ku Council Office on 22 May 2017. Taking this meeting as an opportunity to provide feedback to government, they also conducted follow up discussions with Galiwin’ku Engagement Advisory Board members.
Post-meeting commentary: Rosemary Gundjarraŋbuy and Danny Daŋataŋa address decision that is in the process of being made by the Regional Council/L.A. The decision concerns funding a new a new facility (e.g. BMX track). They suggest decision-making should not be focused not only around the facility, but also look at how this expenditure can create long-term jobs for Yolŋu in Galiwin’ku.
